Meera and Sumit had an extraordinary wedding right at the heart of the city, rich with tradition, against the stunning backdrop of San Francisco's City Hall.
Talk about an impressive family and friends photograph. That pretty much set the tone for the whole day. I couldn't turn my camera in any direction without landing on a smiling face, particularly those of the beaming bride and groom, Sita and Kartik. This wedding was rich with tradition. It took place on gorgeous day at the Palmdale Estates. And there was plenty of love to go around.
Carol and Dave had an extraordinary wedding day: a gorgeous location (the Mountain Winery in Saratoga), a beaming groom; a beautiful bride; all fun, joy, and love. It was an honor to play a role in telling their story.
The Wedding weekend of Samira and Faraz started with a Mehndi Reception at the Portola Hotel and Spa in Monterey with amazing dance performances by friends and their families. Sunday was the wedding day at the Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley with its breathtaking views.
Sue and Bob had the quintessential wine country wedding, starting with a lovely ceremony at the Paradise Ridge Vineyard, a wine tasting and picnic at the Valley of the Moon Winery. And then to round up the day with a fabulous reception at the Napa Valley Marriot. I hope you enjoy the small film with the highlights of their wedding day.
Lori and Jake had an amazing wedding at the Brazilian Room in Berkeley, this is one of my favorite places and all the weddings I had the honor to film there have been great there is something special about this place. And it certainly helps to have so many wonderful friends like Lori and Jake.
A few weeks ago I was working as a DP with the director Robert Adanto in New Orleans. I spent one night walking down Frenchmen Street to capture the amazing energy and music. The music is from the Sweet Street Symphony who were playing that night.
I had the pleasure to film another wedding on Fischers Island, and this one was truly great. And it can not hurt to have a 'backyard' like Kyley's parents. Still have to figure out what the gorilla and the chicken meant, you will see when you watch the video. Thanks to Carlton Bright who worked with me on this wedding.
It is a good thing to step back once in a while to reflect back on what you have done in your work. A lot has changed in the last year in terms of what is possible in the world of videography, especially for the creation of wedding films. I won't bore you with the technical details, but the ability to shoot a wedding film in HD with amazing results, using the same cameras used on TV shows like House, now exists. So finally your wedding video will have a whole different dimension to it. Then again, it is all about you. If yours is a great love story -- it always is -- an iPhone might do, but to have an experienced filmmaker at your wedding who knows what's possible would also be a really good idea. I hope you like this little teaser.
